Founded in 1972, Tinto Pesquera is an exemplary exponent of the new wines from Spain. Its nearly 200 acres of Tempranillo (Tinta del Pais), located in a microclimate that promotes the advancement of ripening grapes provide the necessary for the development of nearly all its wines.

Alejandro Fernandez, Tinto Pesquera creator is a great character. Was devoted to very different crafts and agriculture, before becoming a producer of wines. Rather than sit back and watch the success of its wines, it remains as much or more active than ever and oversees every detail of everything that happens in the winery. His first crops were born in a small winery, which today is part of the romantic legend of Pesquera.

This tenacious entrepreneur, endowed with exceptional virtues, has equipped the winery with all the advances needed to produce great wines. The 7,500 barrels in the cellar are telling the American oak. The wines stay in barrel and bottle 14 months (breeding), or a maximum of two years (reserves).

The success of Tinto Pesquera wines is endorsed by the praise of the best international critics. Tinto Pesquera have been, since the 80's, a model for all its neighbors in the Ribera del Duero. At a time when almost everyone was the fashion snob of large reserves, Tinto Pesquera showed that, when you have a great ground and a superb microclimate, unless personality is expressed delusions of wood.
