Canary Islands wines

The wines of the Canary Islands are being able to overcome the difficulties of the topography of the islands, achieving great results. All this is done by driving a great process of modernization of methods and technologies in order to produce high quality products.

The Canary Islands have eight denominations of origin in all, the ones that stand out being Tacoronte-Acentejo and Daute Ycouden Isora, which account for hundreds of small vine-growers, noted for their white and red wines. Meanwhile, the de Abona, Valle de la Palma or the Valle de Orotava, produce white wines that boost the name of Canarian wines.

Strains of the Canary Islands are mainly Listán Blanca, Vijariego, Pedro Ximenez, Verdelho, Bastardo, Malvasia, Muscat or Burra Blanca. Among the red grapes, with less surface planted, are the Mulatto, Black Muscat and Malvasia Dorada.
