Tempranillo wines
Tempranillo is the most prevalent strain and most prestigious in Spain, present in 28 Spanish appellations. Also occurs in Portugal, Argentina, USA and France.
Because Tempranillo wines are very different depending on where the grape is grown, it has up to 15 different names such as Tinto Fino, Tinta del Pais, Ull de llebre (rabbit eye) or cencibel of La Mancha.
The origin of the word is because Tempranillo grapes ripen quickly obtaining ideal tannins for aging in oak barrels.
Tempranillo wines are deep red wine with fruity aromas of red berries and currants. It is a strain that produces wines with very structured and raising yields a complex bouquet with notes of toast and wood.
As a pairing, it is advisable to accompany Tempranillo wines with grilled meats, stews, paste and sausages.
