Bordeaux wines
The largest vineyard in the world is located in Bordeaux, extending around three main rivers and with over 105,000 hectares and 53 denominations of origin. This should give readers an idea of the importance of this wine-producing region.
The vineyards of Bordeaux produce red wine in the north, in the Médoc region. This is a privileged place for this type of wine, and also for some of the best wines, such as Pauillac, Margaux, Listrac or Saint-Julien.
In Bordeaux the white strains cultivated are Sémillon and Sauvignon, which are very abundant in the gravel, sand, clay and loamy soils, with a warm and sunny climate. These two strains are complemented by those of Muscadelle, Merlot Blanc, Colombard, Mauzac, de Ondenc and Saint-Emilion.
