Diego Conterno Barolo Ginestra 2014 (Nebbiolo)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: garnet red.
  • Nose: elegant fragrance, persistent fruity, spicy, balsamic and minerals.
  • Mouth: cherry, strawberry, black tea, nougat, anise, Seville orange, pink and a touch of oak. Strong and complex.

APPELLATION: Barolo.

VINEYARD: Name: Ginestra, located on a hill 300 to 350 meters from latura made of a calcareous mixture tending to clayey soil.

GRAPES: 100% Nebbiolo.

AGEING: aged between 24 and 30 months in wooden barrels of 500 liters.

PREPARATION: maceration for 20 to 30 days in steel.

PAIRING: game meat, cured cheeses, red meat dishes seconds.

RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18-20 °C

It was given to us in a wine tasting stand of red.
Red intense cherry colour and high layer. The main aromas were coffee and wood. Astringent, rough taste.
