Old Engine Oil
Old Engine Oil is the first winner ever of the Tesco Beer Challenge. Launched in 2000 it has a thick, dark and gloopy appearance. Harviestoun added oats to smooth out the bitterness, resulting in a really black beer with great sweetness and full flavour. The brewery recommends pairing the Old Engine Oil with ice cream. Just put a bowl of vanilla ice cream into your glass. You'll see, it's stunningly delicious!
- Color: Old Engine Oil has a dark, almost black.
- Smell: Aroma of rich chocolate and coffee.
- Mouth: The taste is bitter, sherry. Slight creaminess and bitterness to finish.
