An interesting recipe with wine you can make at home: Torrijas with wine. It’s very simple to prepare. This recipe looks like a steak despite being traditionally eaten during Holy Week in Spain. Many people accompany it with a little vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Bread
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 liter of red wine
  • 2 eggs
  • Cinnamon
  • Orange
  • Olive oil

Preparation:

Step 1:
In a pan pour a liter of red wine with cinnamon, sugar and orange zest on the fire and boil the ingredients for about 10 minutes.

Step 2:
Remove from heat, drain and reserve.

Step 3:
Now take the bread (preferably from the day before) and cut into slices. Place them in a large pan and soak them with the wine you cooked with other ingredients and reserved. Do not soak too long.

Step 4:
Then take the slices of bread soaked in wine. Soak them in beaten eggs. Fry in hot olive oil.

Step 5:
Remove from oil when the slices have browned. Wipe them on absorbent paper to remove excess grease.

Step 6:
Finally serve it with cinnamon and sugar.

Marinated mussels

Ingredients:

  • 1 kilo of mussels
  • 50 ml white wine, preferably not sweet, but with a little sweetness in the mouth as Airen white varietal wines.
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • 50ml white wine vinegar
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika

  • Salt.

Preparation:

Step 1:

Place the mussels in water. Then, in a pan, pour a little white wine and mussels. Cover and wait for them to open.

Step 2:

In a dish put the bay leaf, garlic, pepper and cloves apart.

In a saucepan, pour the oil and garlic until they begin to brown, remove from heat and place the bay leaves.

The Irish Coffee

Irish coffee is a cocktail created in 1940 thanks to a delayed flight of Pan American. Its creator Joe Sheridan wanted to add Irish whiskey to his coffee, because of the cold suffered by passengers. He then presented it as an Irish coffee.

Ingredients:

  • Irish whiskey 30ml, as Jameson or Bushmills Original.
  • 1 cup of coffee
  • Cream
  • Brown sugar
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Ground coffee for garnish

Preparation:

Step 1:

If you have a coffee machine, heat the cup with the vaporizer. Otherwise you can use hot water, leaving the cup enough for it to take the ideal temperature.

Step 2:

Now mix the whiskey and sugar, pour into a saucepan and heat gently. You must be careful that the sugar is dissolved in whiskey. When this is the case, pour the mixture into the preheated cup.

Step 3:

Place your coffee carefully on top of the whiskey and sugar. Pour slowly over the back of a spoon, or drag on the walls of the cup.

Step 4:

Preparation:

Step 1:
Clean the potatoes and place in a baking tray, then add a little olive oil and put in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 40 minutes.

Step 2:
Take the potatoes from the oven and let cool. Peel the skin off and then put them in the blender. Finally, add a pinch of salt and reserve your puree.

Step 3:
Cut the rabbit and season to taste, brown over medium heat in a pan with a little olive oil 4 cloves garlic, peeled.

Step 4:
When the chopped rabbit begins to take a gold color, pour a glass of red wine. Cover completely with water and cover and simmer for 35 minutes.
