Wines to give at weddings

Wine is a more original gift than the usual presents at weddings. We can surprise the newly-weds and they the guests with new wines, wines of different appellations of origin, those which no one has yet tasted and even original sets or packs.

  • Wine miniatures. In order to provide variety, we can give to the guests at the ceremony several wine miniatures, which are usually bottles of about 50 cl from various regions. So they can taste a bit of everything, both reds and whites. It is an unexpected gift that guests usually like.
  • Awarded wines. You can also give bottles of the best wines that have had some award and are recognized for their prestige. They don’t need to be expensive as some of these wines stand out for different reasons. It is important to put it on the gift card.
  • Packs of bottles and glasses. Packs are also cherished by guests. The mini bottle packs with two matched wine glasses are a perfect gift.
  • Wines from the region. To give quality within the province in which the couple marry, the cellars of the place can make a selection of their wines in small samples to promote the appellations of origin in the region.
  • Design bottles. Another original way is offering design. Yes, the wine must be of some quality, but the thing that must be different is the bottle packaging, with original labels and bright colours.
  • Customized bottles. In order to provide a good memory to family and friends, wine bottles can be customized, by ordering the wine most liked by the newly-weds and applying the desired design to the label, with their names and photos on it.

Gifts for wine lovers

True wine lovers have it easy this holiday season, thanks to the number of wine-related gadgets and objects that can be given. Knowing how to appreciate wine is much more, so if you know someone interested in wine world and gourmet items, we suggest these products.

Wine should be served in a good glass. That is because it is preferable to see its colour and features, being able to notice them through a good quality and transparent glass. In order to make the gift more complete, we advise to give cases where there are several sets of glasses to delight friends and family at a time.

Wine cellars

To keep the wine properly, the best thing is to get a good wine cellar. They usually are placed on specialized places, such as wineries and restaurants, but it is perfectly possible to have one at home. It is the best way to keep each wine at its highest level, and offers the latest technology for a better use and enjoyment of wine. Depending on the capacity, they can accommodate 15, 28 or even more bottles. A true wine cellar at home!

Wine coolers and other accessories

The temperature of wine is a key element to drink it properly. To always keep it in the state it deserves before being served, coolers are essential items. There are cooling blankets, buckets, and other accessories to give.

The ritual of serving wine is also a factor to consider. Decanters are ideal to guarantee a proper serving of wine, which make it a great gift for wine professionals or amateurs. These containers are bottle-shaped and you can use them to decant the solid residues of wine, making it to breathe and offering the best flavour and aroma.

Weirdest wine gifts

TAGS:Christmas is the best chance to give to our loved ones those nice gifts they look forward and they deserve. The festive atmosphere and all the parties and meetings with friends contribute to create the perfect moments for these exchanges. When we want to give something to a wine lover we have many options some of which are so interesting that I had to mention here.

Objects made from old barrels are one of the coolest. You can find beautiful planters to decorate your garden or driveway and even benches to rest. You can also find furniture made from barrels another option for a different deco touch.

TAGS:Although the most weird object which I have found made from the wood of an old wine barrel are sunglasses. Yes, believe it or not, there is a U.S. company dedicated to commercialize these original glasses with cassava obviously, not from anywhere but from a famous winery. And, the truth is that they are not bad. The price is fair, 120$, especially if you consider that the products coming from these barrels are limited. That is why they are not very cheap.

Wine lovers also tend to be lovers of the process that creates it, so for them I have found a perfect Christmas present, but not suitable for all pockets: the WinePod. Using your WinePod you can create your own wine at home.

TAGS:Its capacity is not more than 75 liters and it comes together with a program to make the experience more complete and enjoyable. This program will, for example, help you choose which producers can you use grapes from. You just have to connect your WinePod to a computer at home and, among other things, you will be able to control the fermentation process of grapes.

The program guides you through the entire process, even regarding acidity and moisture control. In a few months you can have your own wine made entirely by yourself. Moreover, you can also buy several extras to complete your experience with WinePod. Some of those include a kit with 48 bottles so you can start bottling everything you need.

This new machine opens up new possibilities around wine world for you. Imagine the experience of opening a wine made by yourself with your family or just to give to someone that special bottle you’ve taken a long time to develop and you feel proud of.

The perfect gift for wine lovers

TAGS:Choosing a gift for a wine lover can be tricky if you are not an expert on the subject. If you do not want to take risks when deciding between on one or another designation of origin or you do not want bugs at the time of choosing the vintage: consider the wine accessories. In the following lines you will know the essential accessories that any wine lover may need. There is something for everyone.

The typical corkscrew kit that includes other elements may be an option, but the problem is that surely the person that goes to already has at least one of these sets. So if you want to give a corkscrew dive into something more original, design, engraved with his or her name or any model not so easy to find something more special as we introduced in one of the previous posts on this blog.

Wine glasses seem an excellent idea to me. Choose quality over quantity and you will succeed. Any wine lover worth his salt knows that there is no comparison between drinking your favorite wine from a good wine glass and using for it one that is not so good. The thickness of the glass and the design details will guide you in your choice.

The decanter. You can decide on the typical one or let your mind get blown by a whole world of forms, brands, prices, etc., However, perhaps you will choose one that can accompany you everywhere you go as the wine oxygenators do. They meet the same function as the decanters in less time and saving space as evident.

If your budget allows, you might consider the gift to turn really cool as it would be a wine cellar. The price of this gift is far superior to any of the other proposals but it also guarantees you a sure hit. Among the different possibilities when buying one of these refrigerators you can also consider choosing a model with two different temperature spaces, perfect for preserving red wine and white wine.

A little less expensive are wine cabinets that do not include this option among which you also have lots of choices. Starting with details such as capacity, lighting system, single or double door, brand, etc.. When you commit to one or the other, make sure it’s not too noisy and that the space designed for each bottle is enough to keep those wines that come in formats a little longer or wider than usual.

Wine Gift

Wine giftGift wine is a great idea. I say this because … Today is my birthday! Yes, I know that this is not my personal blog, but in recent days there has been people to the one I have made the same comment: I know you like wine, I’d give present you a bottle, but I’m afraid you might not like it. In other words, that is the typical fear of not succeeding.

For all who are in that situation and don’t know what wine to choose, here are some suggestions with some of the best wines to give as a present. Also, if you are concerned about the budget, you can select them by price:

  • Gift came to 10 €: Having a budget is no reason for not being able to make a glamorous gift. Marques de Riscal offers the Marqués de Riscal Villa Montico 2008, Verdejo with 90 points in the Penin Guide. The, “Habla del silencio 2008” is the best seller in red wines. There must be a good reason, right?

  • Wine Gift 10 to 20 €: From 10 to 20 € we find most of the best quality white wines, so they are the best if your “gift” goes to a true wine lover. The Coma Alta is one of them, such a different white wine from anything else made in Spain, and they will love it. Among red wines, you can choose between most of the best “Crianzas” of Spain, as Corimbo or the Resalte Crianza 2005, the best Spanish wine from 2010 for Wine & Spirits.

  • Giving wine of more than 50 €: The easy thing would be to go up to infinity, but the truth is that without spending more than 50 € you can have one of the best wines of Spain. Here I recommend the Contino Graciano 2004. Graciano grape is one of our most difficult, but brighter when it’s developed alone. This rarity of just over € 50 but it is exceptional.

And, if you have no limit, I propose what only the most demanding of palates can afford: spend more than 300 Euros in a Spanish white wine, the Enate Uno Chardonnay 2003. Of course; those lucky enough say the outlay is worthwhile.
