The President Cocktail is from Cuba and is part of the most classic drinks in the country, created in 1920 to honor President Gerardo Machado. One of its main ingredients is, of course, Cuban rum, and its taste is citrusy and tropical.
Gerardo Machado was the 5th president of the Republic of Cuba, born in 1871, president in the period 1925-1933 and died in Miami Beach in 1939 at 67 years of age.
Probably not as well known globally as the Cuba Libre (rum and cola) but with a very unique and appealing taste, it gains easily the favoritism of those who enjoy it for the first time.
