Bastianich Vespa Rosso

A powerful, focused style which packs quite a punch. Crushed flowers, raspberries and tobacco linger on the polished finish

One of the flagship wines of the Bastianich estate, Vespa Rosso was created to showcase the power and evolution that a great Friulian wine can have.

Joe Bastianich' wines are already rated amongst the top in the region with Vespa Bianco having been awarded Tre Bicchieri in the Gambero Rosso no fewer than 6 times!

Grapes:      50% Merlot, 30% Refosco, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc

Region:      Italy / Friuli / Colli Orientali

Maker:       Joe Bastianich

Notes:        Vespa Rosso is uncommonly fruit-forward and structured for a "cold weather" red wine, and yet it retains many of the spicy, earthy notes that characterize Friulian reds. The extra effort made in both the vineyard (sharply reducing yields) and the cellar (small batch fermentation in tonneaux) helps elevate Vespa Rosso beyond the ranks of everyday reds.

Serve:       At 16-18c it is perfect with Steaks and braised red meats.

ABV:         13.5%
