2015 harvest corresponds to a dry year, with a winter rainfall of 200 mm between May and October 2011 in Puente Alto, only 2/3 of normal.
A warmer than usual September, made the sprouting occurred earlier in Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Carmenere. However, lower temperatures delayed sprouting October of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The summer was dry and much warmer than in the previous two years, with pint 10 days earlier than usual. March was particularly hot, with the average maximum temperatures within the highest historical averages.
As could be expected, the harvest began two weeks earlier than usual, on March 15 with the first Merlot, and ended on May 18 with the last Carmenere. However, most of Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested under lower between April 17 and May 14 temperatures. The same happened with the Carmenere between 8 and 18 May.
These conditions generated a healthy fruit quality, with optimal levels of maturation, concentration and purity.
DEVELOPMENT AND AGEING: 19 months new French oak barrels.
TEMPERATURE: 16-18 °C
