D'Arenberg The Sticks and Stones Tempranillo Blend 2011 (Tempranillo)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Medium ruby, garnet glow.
  • Nose: varietal aroma clean up, somewhat earthy: notes of red fruit, cherries and some spiciness.
  • Mouth: fruity, smooth taste, medium bodied. Fresh finish with good length and elegant style.

APPELLATION: MacLaren Okay.

VINEYARD: planted in stony soil sticks to produce this wine grapes.

GRAPES: Tempranillo 60%, Grenache 25%, 13% and Ink Souzao Cao 2%.

AGEING: Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and American.

PREPARATION: small batches of grapes crushed gently

and then transferred to open fermenters and fermented separately. treaded foot halfway fermentation, wine pressing basket.

We tasted it during a little trip to D'Arenberg between coworkers.
Very dark Bordeaux colour. Aromas of violets. As many 2010 this wine is slightly rough.
