- Nose: clean, good intensity, subtle cocoa aromas, roasted, balsamic.
- Mouth: powerful, rich, with notes of clove, black pepper and cocoa. broad, complex and persistent.
VINEYARD: Luis Cañas
GRAPES: Graciano, Tempranillo
AGEING: 12 months in French oak barrels, 12 months in American oak barrels, 18 months in bottle cellar.
PREPARATION: selection of vineyards over 45 years, traditional winemaking and very careful.
PAIRING: roast lamb, game meat stews, spicy dishes, mushrooms, truffles, black chocolate, cream dishes.

OTHER ATTRIBUTES: The winery Luis Cañas is nestled in Villanueva de Alava, in the province of Alava. It has more than two centuries of tradition and produce both wine aging as reserves, both of high quality. Their methods are used with maximum respect to the environment. The average age of the vines is around 40 years. Is a family winery since 1928. In 1970 Luis Cañas wines are released. In 1989 Juan Luis Cañas, son of Luis Cañas, took over the family winery with more than two centuries of winemaking tradition and since then the prestige of its wines is growing, high quality wines, mainly from aging and reserve. In 2006 the last phase of 4500 meters to improve reception ends grape. rioja extraordinary wine made from a selection of old vines more than 45 years. with a traditional and very careful vinification, the wine rests for 24 months in oak barrels, 12 months in new French oak barrels and 12 in American oak barrels sophomores.
