The Château Filhot is located in the Sauternes appellation. The Château Filhot was created in 1709 by Roman Filhot, adviser to the Parliament of Bordeaux. It was sent to the current owner: Count Henri de Vaucelles. Vines and Château Filhot of the park are located on the southern slopes of the hill of Sauternes. The slopes face south or southwest and consist serious, clay and sand on limestone plateau. Bordered by the Landes forest and crossed by a small local river, the Ciron, domain Filhot benefits of micro-climatic conditions ideal for the development of "Botrytis cinerea" on grapes. The Château Filhot is part of the classified growths of the appellation.
