Château Rieussec Magnum 2001 (Muscadelle, Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc)

TASTING NOTES OF Château Rieussec Magnum 2001:

  • Nose: The first wine tastings reveal a powerful nose dominated by notes of apricot and candied melon.
  • Mouth: On the palate, the attack is delicate and fine. Then the wine develops large scale, with an impressive presence. The balance between acidity and liquor is so perfect that the sugar disappears completely: this feeling is very rare, occurring only in exceptional Sauternes.

In just three days, the gold went vineyard characteristic yellow to botrytis violet. Aided by the wind, the botrytis grapes makes shrink, wrinkle and contract, concentrating the juice. Harvesting is done very quickly and, in certain plots in a single pass, something never seen in Rieussec.

We order it in a supper with working colleagues.
It had a very shutdown colour. Cool and pleasant.
A that doesn't need to be accompanied by food.
