Although the description says that Hibiki 17 years shines in an amber colour, golden might be a more appropriate description. The Japanese premium Whiskey, made by Suntory, has won a total of 7 gold medals in different renowned whisky competitions over the last 10 years. "Hibiki" is Japanese for "resonance" or "echo" and appeals to the soul and emotions of whisky enthusiasts. In this Single Malt, nature resounds with all its beautiful facets from the 24 seasoned antique Japanese moon calendar. Hibiki 17 years ages in oak casks previously filled with Umeshu. This is a Japanese liqueur made from the autochthone ume fruit.
TASTING NOTES of Hibiki 17 year old :
- Color: amber.
- Flavor: quite complete. There are hints of honey and wax, resin and oak. There are notes of sweet smoke and cocoa, cooked fruit notes and a nutty note.
- Taste: sweet and rich. There are notes of crisp mixed peel, raisins and cream with a little spice and lots of oak. The finish is long with hints of oak and cocoa.
